Democrat Republican, 5th District, Alabama

"I would not vote for her (U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi). Someone that divisive and that polarizing cannot bring us together."

(U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith (R-AL), Huntsville Times, 8/25/09)
* Congressman Griffith made these comments as a Democrat member of Congress. He recently announced he is following his principles and changing to the Republican Party.

As a Democrat Congressman, Parker Griffith, put the people before politics and pledged to vote against giving U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi another term. Why? Because "I am an American," first; and Nancy Pelosi's leadership has been "divisive" and "polarizing".

Pelosi has used her Speakership to strong-arm her radically liberal policies through Congress with complete disregard for building bipartisan coalitions around common sense ideas. Her failed leadership finally drove Congressman Griffith to change parties and recently become a Republican.

It is important for all of us to let Congressman Parker Griffith know he is not alone in his opposition to Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.

Whether you are a current member of Congress, a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, or a citizen who is just fed up with bitterly partisan politics, you can make a difference.

Sign the petition below and send a clear message to Speaker Pelosi and all of America. It is not about what is good for Republicans or Democrats. It is about what is good for our country.

Sincerely,
Lou Huddleston

Resolved, in the U.S. House Elections for the 112th Congress, I pledge that I will not vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House and her divisive leadership.
Dear Congressional Leaders, I am sick and tired of the bitterly partisan and heavy handed politics we have seen from Speaker Nancy Pelosi. It may serve a narrow political agenda, but it damages our country. Please do the right thing for America and oppose her re-election as Speaker. I urge you to only support common sense, bipartisan legislation and leadership.
